Admissions

Admissions to our Master's degree program is done through a competitive evaluation, which assesses the artistic and creative abilities of the candidates.

* ECAL evaluates title's equivalences. This procedure being relatively long, a request of examination (Diploma, transcripts & cv) must be submitted by email to ECAL Secretariat inscription@ecal.ch until March 4th 2025 the latest.

> Request of evaluation submitted after the above mentionned date will not be processed.

• a curriculum vitae
• a copy of passport or identity card
• a copy of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent certificate), diploma supplement and transcripts (a certified translation is required for languages other than French, German, Italian, English and Spanish).

• a presentation and motivation letter
• a short description of the Master project
• a representative portfolio of recent works. Films or other moving images will only be accepted via a "Vimeo channel". 

The master’s admissions process based on an application file (ASD-M) gives candidates without an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) the opportunity to enroll in a master’s programme at a University of applied sciences (HES).

In order to be eligible, candidates must :

• be at least 25 years old at the time of application.
• have at least seven years of professional or artistic experience in their chosen field. Candidates need to provide evidence of their experiences by submitting letters of recommendation and a portfolio outlining all of their artistic and/or design-related projects and achievements.

If you would like to apply via ASD-M, you need to register online by March 4th 2025 at the latest, and pay a non-refundable registration fee of CHF 150.-.
