Charitini Gkritzali receives an award at the Global Design Graduate Show 2023

Charitini Gkritzali , who graduated from ECAL with a Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship in 2023, is the winner of the Global Design Graduate Show 2023 presented by Arts Thread and Gucci.

The designer presented her "Topology of a body" project, inspired by the 20th century orthopedic braces. A series of body jewellery that closely conform to the human anatomy and resemble the body’s structural elements.

Global Design Graduate Show is officially the world’s largest online showcase of graduating artists & designers worldwide. Arts Thread launched the first ever online Global Design Graduate Show in collaboration with Gucci in April 2020, as a response to all of the end of year show cancellations due to the pandemic. This initiative has now become an annual event supported by over 150 independent expert judges from many leading brands worldwide, who are invited to select the winners from the thousands of graduating creatives entering every year. In the first four initiatives over 20,000 undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates from over 100 countries have uploaded their final year projects.

All winners will have their work showcased in a virtual gallery hosted by Google Arts & Culture. The collaboration with Google Arts & Culture means that students’ work will reach a further audience which can help launch their independent businesses or gain employment within the creative industries.
