From April 27 to May 7, ECAL will participate in Hyper Ouest festival, which will take place in the municipalities of western Lausanne, and will open its doors for the concert of the German artist Alva Noto.
Hyper Ouest festival offers the opportunity to (re)discover the municipalities of western Lausanne through concerts, shows, exhibitions, workshops, walks, and unusual events. On this occasion, ECAL will host Alva Noto's concert.
As the founder of "reductionism," his scientific approach to music has made him a reference in the field. The native of Karl-Marx Stadt in Germany founded his label Noton in 1999, which operated for over 20 years in service of minimalism.
At the same time, he has collaborated extensively. He covered The Cure, worked with Iggy Pop, and co-signed, with his partner Ryuichi Sakamoto, the soundtrack of Alejandro González Iñárritu's The Revenant. Alva Noto is a builder who works in the interstices between art, science, and sound.
His diverse body of work is a journey to the land of minimalist and melancholic ambient music.
