ECAL presents its recent collaborations with FREITAG and Horgenglarus at Design Days 2024
ECAL x Horgenglarus x senior-lab
In collaboration with Horgenglarus and the senior-lab, the ECAL is presenting an original work by students in the Product Design Master's programme, which brings together a range of wooden objects that meet the needs of elderly users, far from the stereotypes usually associated with this category. It shows how design can help an ageing population to meet its needs with greater freedom and joy.
Project
ECAL x FREITAG
Access over Ownership exhibition focuses on having access to goods versus owning and maintaining them. The Zurich-based brand has come together with ECAL Bachelor students in Industrial Design, under the guidance of designer Christophe Guberan, to create a series of upcycled, practical, and enjoyable objects to borrow that embrace those values of sharing and community by encouraging the joy of collective ownership.
AIRTUBE, an inflatable sofa made from used tractor inner tubes and seatbelts, can be seen at the FREITAG Store in Lausanne.
