ECAL Cinema department welcomes Swiss-Peruvian director Klaudia Reynicke for a masterclass moderated by Paolo Moretti, head of Bachelor & Master Cinéma.
Swiss-Peruvian director Klaudia Reynicke grew up between Peru, Switzerland and the USA. After training in fine arts and social sciences, she went on to study filmmaking at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York, before obtaining an ECAL/HEAD Master's degree in cinema in Switzerland. Her first feature, Il Nido (2016), was selected for the Locarno Film Festival. Love me tender (2019), the second, also screened at Locarno and took part in international festivals such as TIFF in Toronto, BFI in London and Tallinn Black Nights in Estonia. This was followed by Reinas (2024), which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2024 and won awards at the Berlinale and Locarno. Klaudia Reynicke's third feature is selected to represent Switzerland at the Oscars in 2025.
