« From freak shows to the invention of hysteria in the 19th century, the figure of the monster is created through images. The staging of abnormality reinforces the norm to which it is opposed. By means of self-representation, I seek to create a monstrosity out of the banal, turning my body into malleable and fragmented material. With reference to scientific and anatomical iconography, I seek to deconstruct normative representations of the body in order to construct new ones.
